The company headed by former investment banker, Joseph Sabeh Afaki started its operations on the 3rd of July 2008 and since then been dubbed by many prominent food critiques as the best Lebanese restaurant in town as a result of its owners’ willingness to bring high quality, authentic Lebanese Cuisine to the Malaysian market and the masses.
Al-Amar has also been included in many top F&B publications such as Malaysia Tatler’s Best Restaurant Guide, Eat me best restaurants guide from Singapore and has accomplished several awards such as “BEST MIDDLE EASTERN RESTAURANT” by Time Out KL Food Awards 2010 and awards of excellence for the MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL GOURMET FESTIVAL (MIGF) 2009 and 2010.

Al-Amar prides itself by providing some of the best Lebanese offerings available in town and has almost 50% of its ingredients imported directly from Lebanon. Several of the grains, spices and condiments including chickpeas and the reputable seven spices have to be flown in directly from Lebanon enabling them to deliver the true authentic taste of Lebanese Cuisine.
Particular care has also been given in choosing local ingredients to ensure the best standards and freshness levels are met with the stringent requirements of Lebanese Cuisine.
